Some Bitter-Sweet News!
In this blog, I try to highlight the silver lining of the clouds that have been there on us for quite some time now.
2020, a year of mishaps, distress, loss and all the other possible negative adjectives have been associated to this year since its beginning. Not only has the whole world been affected by the novel corona virus but also has had a downfall economically, experienced recession, trade going off the markets and the world wide lockdown, we’ve experienced it all. Few say the year has been cursed and others believe it to be World War III, all together, a global pandemic has definitely been declared by World Health Organization. Scientists, medical professionals and researchers around the world are working towards the cure of the deadly virus. Speaking about our country, India has been among the top 10 countries which have been worst affected by the spread of the deadly corona virus. Given the fact of densely spread population, it has been estimated that if India fails to follow the guidelines the number will increase double the times than the current rate. Keeping COVID-19 aside, India has had other downfall as well, recession, slow growth rate, lay-offs in the industries, salary cuts, isolation from the global market, migrant families starving and dying, major disparity among the different class of people, the tragic gas leakage in Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, natural calamity too; the Amphan Cyclone in the east causing destruction in different regions, electricity and telephone lines brought down, taking away lives of people, trees uprooted and houses flattened, efforts were made to evacuate people from the coast but due to social distancing and measures for COVID- 19, it became difficult to carry out. And now the locust attack in various states has had destructive impact on farmers. Times like this create an environment of negativity and sadness. Sure, the country has been facing a tough situation but tough times like these shall pass soon. There’s always a ray of positivity and hope in any given situation. No matter how bad the situation is, there is always a positive learning or outcome from it. As someone wise said there is always some good news around us!
